The Competition Commission has reportedly delayed the announcement of its decision regarding Eurotunnel acquisitions to mid-March, say reports.
The UK’s Office of Fair Trading handed the Commission the case last October regarding Eurotunnel’s acquisition of assets from now-defunct SeaFrance. The Commission ruled that Eurotunnel had to divest its operations at one area, but Eurotunnel appealed the decision to the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
In return, the Tribunal ordered the Commission to take another look at its decision and consider whether the Commission has jurisdiction over the matter by determining whether the transaction was a transfer of assets or a transfer of a business.
As the Commission was told to issue a new decision, the regulator has now postponed the date of its new ruling, which was originally expected at the end of this month.
