UK: Commission feels resistance for hospital sale order

The UK’s Competition Commission is receiving resistance over its recent ruling requiring two major healthcare conglomerates to divest hospitals, say reports.

The international unit of US-based Hospital Corporation of America was told to divest two hospitals in London after a market inquiry by the Commission found lacking competition in the healthcare industry.

Following the ruling, HCA called the decision “plainly wrong.”

HCA will reportedly contest the ruling.
