UK: OFT examines Evergreen’s motorway service buyout

The UK’s Office of Fair Trading announced Thursday the initiation of a probe into Evergreen Extra MSA Group’s buyout of Serena Properties’ motorway services unit. According to reports, the regulator will look into whether the merger will promote an anticompetitive market in violation of the Enterprise Act of 2002. Further details of the investigation were not disclosed.
