UK: Ofwat head Regina Finn calls it quits

The head of water regulator Ofwat, Regina Finn, has announced her resignation. Finn will leave the position as chief executive in November after six years, and Ofwat has begun searching for a replacement. The news comes in the wake of negative criticism aimed at Finn following regulatory overhauls affecting water utilities. Last year Ofwat looked to make companies opposing the policy changes to the Competition Commission; facing backlash, the regulator backed down from those threats. The overhaul plans looked to increase competition in the water sector, but conglomerates were skeptical of how enforcement of those policies would take place.
