UK: Squire Patton Boggs recruit competition law expert

Squire Patton Boggs added Francesco Liberatore as a partner to the firm based in London, joining from Jones Day. Mr. Liberatore’s practice combines communications and competition law and policy.

    Mr Liberatore advises a broad range of clients on legal and regulatory issues affecting the electronic communications sector and the evolving internet ecosystem. He has extensive experience working with the EU and U.K. regulatory framework for electronic communications, as well as the regulatory systems applicable to the provision of traditional communications, VoIP and new internet-based services around the world.

    Mr. Liberatore also has worked on a wide range of competition law matters including but not limited to those involving the electronic communications sector. He has acted for clients before the U.K. regulators, Ofcom and the Competition and Markets Authority, and the European Commission, and also has managed internal investigations, counselled on compliance issues, and coordinated multi-jurisdictional merger control strategies. Mr. Liberatore also has considerable litigation experience in this area, including the representation of clients in matters before the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal, the High Court of Justice and the European Courts.
