Ukrainian: Competition watchdog clears redistribution of 900 MHz band

The Ukrainian competition regulator AMKU has cleared the redistribution of frequencies in the 900 MHz band by mobile operators, reports BizLigaNet. As a result, the spectrum can be used for expansion of LTE networks.

    The Ministry of Digital Transformation said in a statement that the operators have become able to submit applications for new licences. If the operators undertake the necessary legal procedures quickly, they will be able to start expanding their LTE networks using the 900 MHz band this summer, the ministry said.

    LTE services on the 900 MHz band will enable customers to use 4G in a majority of the country’s area.
