US: After saga with American, US Airways refocuses energy on new lawsuit

 |  January 5, 2014

US Airways is pursuing its antitrust lawsuit against travel electronics firm Sabre, having requested a trial date late last month, even as its new partner American Airlines settled with Sabre for an undisclosed settlement.

US Airways first launched an antitrust case against Sabre in 2011 following a merchandising and distribution agreement between the companies; US claims Sabre’s dominance in the market to distribute travel tickets to agents is hiking airline costs.

Sabre filed its own countersuit against US Airways this time last year.
