US: Sabre files counterclaim against US Airways

According to reports, Sabre Holdings Corp has officially asked a judge to bring an antirrust claim against US Airways Group Inc. US Airways had sued the flight data company in 2011 for holding a monopoly on that data; but in a filing last Friday, Sabre has requested a counterclaim in Mangattan based on new evidence allegedly received during litigation. Sabre denies US Airways’ claims. According to the filing, Sabre is claiming that during the 2011 lawsuit, US Airways was itself breaching antitrust law by colluding with other airliners concerning how the competitors would deal with Sabre.
