In a news release, Benco officials said while there has been no finding of any violation of law, the company reached a “settlement in principle” with the plaintiffs.

They did not provide more details about the settlement, but Benco officials did not make an admission of liability. The settlement information was not filed in court.

“While we continue to believe that the lawsuit’s claims are without merit, settlement allows us to avoid the time, expense, and inherent uncertainty of litigation,” a company spokesperson wrote in an emailed statement. “We can now refocus our efforts on what we do best: driving dentistry forward.”
