US: Auto parts rivals ignite $2B merger

Advance Auto Parts announced Wednesday plans to acquire competitor General Parts International in a $2.04 billion deal.

Reports say the merger will boost Advance up the market ranks and generate revenue of more than $9.2 billion annually.

General Parts focuses in commercial customer servicing.
