Antitrust and IP shop Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider has hired another partner from a larger law firm’s counsel ranks. Peter Herrick, previously counsel at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, joined Axinn last week as a partner in its antitrust group in New York.
Mr. Herrick has nearly 15 years of experience in antitrust litigation, counseling clients on competition issues, and government merger and conduct investigations. He has represented clients in both civil and criminal antitrust matters, including alleged price fixing and restraint of trade, advocating before the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice and the European Commission. Mr. Herrick also has helped secure clearance of multibillion-dollar mergers and acquisitions.
“Peter’s impressive mix of antitrust counseling, investigations and litigation experience will be invaluable to us, especially in the ever-changing competitive landscape,” said John Harkrider, Co-Chair of the Antitrust Group and a founding partner at the firm. “The addition of Peter to our Antitrust team is the latest strategic hire as Axinn continues to add world-class talent in the antitrust space.”
