US: Barnes & Thornburg law firm launches Dallas office with antirust emphasis

Barnes & Thornburg, an Indianapolis firm with 13 offices nationwide, moved into Texas with an office in Dallas initially staffed by two litigators who formerly worked at Gardere Wynne Sewell.

    Mark Bayer, the managing partner for Barnes & Thornburg in Dallas, joined the firm on June 1, and Randy Gordon joined as a partner on June 8.

    Bayer said the opportunity to join 569-lawyer Barnes & Thornburg was “irresistible” because of the culture of the firm and the chance to develop the firm’s Texas practice.

    “I like the idea of trying to build something,” said Bayer, who does litigation including antitrust, securities, privacy, theft of trade secrets, intellectual property, class actions and RICO.
