US: Bazaarvoice speaks out on delayed ruling in DOJ merger lawsuit

Online retail rating service provider Bazaarvoice released a statement Tuesday announcing that a court has postponed the hearing for a final judgment, requested by the Department of Justice.

    According to the statement the hearing was moved back to April 25. In its announcement, Bazaarvoice said the delay allows the company more time to “reasonably restore the lost competition identified by the court’s decision.”

    Bazaarvoice said it offered concessions to divest assets following its merger with PowerReviews, for which the DOJ sued the companies on the grounds it reduced competition in the online review market.

    The DOJ filed a lawsuit against Bazaarvoice over its acquisition in January 2013.
