US: DOJ appoints chief economist for the Antitrust Division

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced its new Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Economic Analysis in the Antitrust Division, a position also known as the chief economist, for the Antitrust Division. Luke M. Froeb will be returning to the DOJ where he previously worked as a staff economist early in his career.

    Froeb also worked at the Federal Trade Commission from 2003 to 2005 as Director of the Bureau of Economics.

    Froeb is a faculty member at Vanderbilt University holding the position of Chair of Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
