US: DOJ approves merger resulting in nation’s only satellite imagery company

Reports say the Department of Justice has cleared two commercial satellite imagery providers to merge. GeoEye and Digital Globe have been allowed to combine, resulting in only one commercial satellite imagery company in the nation. The deal was unanimously approved by shareholders. The deal will still require approval from the Federal Communications Commission and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, however.
