US: DOJ takes hard look at SandRidge oil deals

The US Department of Justice has reportedly subpoenaed SandRidge Energy Inc as part of the regulator’s investigation into oil right, according to the energy firm.

SandRidge ousted its founder and chief executive Tom Ward following allegations of self-dealing, among other claims. Now, according to the oil firm, the DOJ is taking a harder look at the company “in connection with an ongoing investigation of possible violations of antitrust laws in connection with the purchase or lease of land, oil or natural gas rights,” the company said in its annual filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company said is fully cooperating with regulators.
