The Federal Trade Commission gave Dollar Tree the go-ahead for the deal last week, as long as it sells more than 300 Family Dollar stores which has to happen within 150 days after the deal closes.

This comes after 17 states, including Pennsylvania, filed a lawsuit challenging the merger. The suit claimed competition would be reduced if the sale went on as planned. Dollar Tree will have to sell 330 Family Dollar stores to another competitor as part of the settlement.
