US: FedEx eyes e-commerce, nabs logistics firm Genco

Shipping firm FedEx has announced plans to acquire third-party logistics company Genco as the delivery service looks to expand operations in retail and e-commerce, say reports.

The deal, whose financial details were not disclosed, will need to receive regulatory clearance from antitrust authorities in the US and Canada, but the companies say they expect to close the merger next year.

Genco specializes in product test, repair, remarketing and liquidation services.
