US: Former AT&T partners petition FCC to block DirecTV deal

Nearly 100 former business partners of AT&T are reportedly urging the Federal Communications Commission to block the company’s proposed takeover of DirecTV, claiming the telco engaged in anticompetitive behavior.

    According to reports, the partners issued an FCC filing as the Minority Cellular Partners Coalition and accused AT&T of knowingly harming its business partners through anticompetitive conduct.

    Reports did not specify exactly what that conduct involved. AT&T did not respond to media requests for comment, say reports.

    AT&T is planning on acquiring DirecTV for $48.5 billion.
