Crowell & Moring announced that Alexis Gilman, a former Assistant Director at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), will join the firm’s Washington office as a partner in its global Antitrust Group. With seven years of government experience reviewing high-profile mergers across a range of industries, he will advise clients on antitrust matters, including merger enforcement, government investigations, and litigation. Overall, Gilman possesses 15 years of government and private practice antitrust experience.
“Alexis’ government leadership and insight into the Federal Trade Commission’s merger review process will be a great asset to our clients,” said Angela B. Styles, chair of Crowell & Moring. “We are excited to welcome Alexis aboard. His experience will further strengthen the firm’s already deep Antitrust Group bench.”
Gilman served all of his seven years at the FTC in the Bureau of Competition, which enforces the nation’s antitrust laws. As Assistant Director (2014-2017), he oversaw a 33-lawyer division responsible for the investigation and litigation of potentially anticompetitive transactions across a broad range of industries, including the health care, food and beverage, distribution, consumer goods, and retail sectors.
