US: FTC offers quick clearance of semiconductor merger

The Federal Trade Commission has reportedly cleared the proposed merger between semiconductor firms Microsemi and Symmetricom, according to reports.

Microsemi first announced last October plans to acquire the company for $7.18 a share. While the company announced the expiration of the HSR Act waiting period, reports say the deal remains subject to several conditions first announced in the tender offer.

Exact financial details of the deal were not reported.
