US: Hertz transplants to Florida after Dollar Thrifty buyout, 700 jobs moved

About six months after its acquisition of Dollar Thrifty, car rental conglomerate Hertz Global Holdings is relocating its home base to Florida from its original New Jersey location. The move will reportedly force 700 jobs to transfer as well over the next two years , though more than 2,000 employees of the two companies will stay in New Jersey. The company expects to complete the move by early 2015. Hertz made the Dollar Thrifty buyout for about $2.6 billion in a deal completed last November; Hertz now stands as the second-largest car rental chain within the US.
