US: Judge grants delay for DOJ, AB, Modelo case to discuss settlement

A judge approved a request to delay the case against AB InBev and Modelo initiated by the US Department of Justice, which is suing the parties over their $20.1 billion merger. According to reports, Judge Richard Roberts granted the delay request jointly made by the DOJ, AB and Modelo. Court documents say the case is delayed through March 19. The DOJ sued the two parties on January 31 arguing the merger would lead to higher costs for consumers. The case is now delayed so the parties involved can discuss a possible settlement.
