US: Largest global natural soda producer sale for $1.64 billion clears antitrust

FMC announced that the sale of its Alkali Chemicals business to Tronox has been approved under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvement Act.

    The Alkali Chemicals business is the largest global producer of natural soda ash. Tronox is a global leader in the production and marketing of mineral sands, titanium dioxide pigment and electrolytic products.

    FMC and Tronox expect to close the deal valued at $1.64 billion, on April 1.
