Rupert Murdoch-owned News Corp is reportedly planning a takeover of the company that runs online real estate giant Realtor.com in efforts to join the ranks of rivals Zillow and Trulia.
According to reports, News Corp will acquire Realtor.com’s parent company Move Inc in a $950 billion deal. While the takeover, reports say, will allow News Corp to move beyond its news media operations through the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, Realtor.com draws fewer visitors than its closest rivals.
Those rivals announced their own merger last July in a $3.5 billion deal, which will pose even stronger competition against Realtor.com.
