US: Pet healthcare firm announces nearly $20M takeover

Aratana Therapeutics, which specializes in medical innovation technologies for pets, announced plans to acquire Vet Therapeutics in a $19.75 million deal the company expects will expand operations into the biologics platform.

According to a press release, the buyout will help Aratana enter the commercial pet therapeutics market.

Vet Therapeutics is best known for its product to treat canine T-cell lymphoma, which is currently under review by the US Department of Agriculture.
