CIT Group Chief Executive John Thain will speak at a public meeting hosted by federal banking regulators on a proposed merger with OneWest Bank NA’s parent company, according to an agenda of the meeting released Tuesday.
Bank regulators decided hold a public hearing in Los Angeles on the planned $3.4 billion takeover of OneWest Bank in Pasadena, rejecting efforts by its chief executive to win approval without such an inquiry.
