US: Top car parts rivals mull merger

Reports say car parts giants Cooper-Standard Holdings and TI Automotive are considering a merger that would combine the world’s top makers of car and truck fluid systems.

    Sources told reporters that Cooper-Standard is meeting with advisers to discuss a potential acquisition and has already approached TI Automotive about a possible bid.

    The sources said TI has been looking for a buyer for the past few months.

    Report say, however, that formal merger talks have not commenced and that a deal is not guaranteed to emerge.
