U.S.: Court rules against Nevada in Enron price-fixing case

The Nevada Supreme Court rejected the appeal of the state and consumers that natural gas and electric customers in Southern Nevada. They were charged for inflating rates in a price-rigging scheme during the energy crisis. The state Bureau of Consumer Protection and customers joined in filing a class-action suit that alleged Reliant Energy and its affiliated companies for making “a secret deal” with now defunct bankrupt Enron Corp. that drove up natural gas prices.
