Watchdog rejects Televisa-Iusacell deal

Televisa and Iusacell have announced that Televisa’s planned acquisition of half of Iusacell has been blocked by the Federal Competition Commission by a 3-2 vote. The news comes a week after the actual vote on the deal. The acquisition would have allowed Televisa to enter the mobile phone market and challenge the market leader, Carlos Slim’s America Movil SAB.
