Wizz Air has been hit with a 500,000-euro penalty by the Antitrust Authority following an investigation into the airline’s annual “Wizz All You Can Fly” subscription. Concerns about the offer had already surfaced in August and September 2024, when questions were raised about whether the service truly delivered on its promise of unlimited travel. According to a statement from the Authority, the advertising used to market the subscription did not accurately reflect the real conditions of its use. Officials found that the terms were partially restrictive, imprecise, and not clearly communicated to consumers.

Per a statement released after the inquiry, regulators determined that there was a significant gap between the company’s promotional messaging and what subscribers were actually able to access. The Authority stated that this lack of transparency created a misleading impression of the service’s value, ultimately prompting the decision to issue the fine.

The ruling places Wizz Air in the center of regulatory scrutiny, as the airline faces criticism over the difference between its commercial promises and the practical limitations of the subscription.
