Colombia: Superintendence charges FUNDESOL with manipulating state contract bid

Colombia’s Superintendence for Industry and Commerce has filed charges against the Solidarity and Development Foundation (FUNDESOL) and Fundación Multiactiva Emprendiendo over an alleged collusion agreement which sought to influence a state contract offered by the Cartagena mayoralty in 2012.

    Charges were also filed against the foundation’s legal representatives, Jennifer Ávila Rodriguez and Darly Johana Asis Padilla. The two are accused of collaborating, facilitating, authorizing and tolerating the illegal conduct.

    The arrangement would have violated competition laws by manipulating a state contract for the supply of groceries to over 7,000 elderly Colombians living in retirement homes, hospices and organized groups in the city of Cartagena de Indias.
