The National Commission of the Markets and Competition of Spain has opened an investigation into possible anti-competitive practices in the public transport sector for passengers in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, particularly affecting school transportation, including the distribution of customers and fixing of bids or tenders.
The CNMC would carried out dawn raids on several companies in the sector suspected of engaging in the practices described. These investigations are a preliminary step in the investigation process, so no company has been named or formally accused of having engaged in these specific behaviors.
