Mexican Watchdog Probes Cartel In The Radiological Equipment Market

Mexico’s regulator COFECE released a notice announcing an investigation into the potential occurrence of horizontal monopolistic practices, colloquially referred to as cartel practices. Specifically, these practices may involve competitors coordinating their bids for public health sector tenders for radiologic equipment and related products in Mexico.

    f the existence of this cartel or concerted practices is proven, the responsible companies (or undertakings) could be fined up to 10% of their revenues generated in Mexico, and those who have participated or induced these practices may be sanctioned.
