The team, who join from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, include contentious antitrust partner Alec Burnside, who was managing partner of Cadwalader in Brussels, non-contentious partner Anne MacGregor and associates Marjolein De Backer and Adam Kidane.

Burnside, who was also, after 26 years at the firm, a former global head of antitrust at Linklaters, has a number of high-profile representations to his name, including acting for Aer Lingus, Deutche Post DHL and Getty Images.

He defends companies who are subject to cartel investigations and abuse of dominance claims, as well as other European Union competition matters.

In a statement, Burnside said he was “looking forward to leveraging the firm’s formidable platform” to service his clients “more efficiently and effectively”.
