US: Former Justice Department spokesperson joins Vrge

Vrge Strategies has hired Emily Pierce, a former deputy director of public affairs in the Justice Department, as SVP, it said Friday morning.

    She will advise clients on legal, policy, antirust, and homeland security issues.

    Pierce was previously acting director of public affairs and principal deputy director in the Justice Department until she joined Vrge last month, according to her LinkedIn profile. The firm noted in a statement that she advised Attorneys General Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch and other department leaders on media strategy and engagement and was responsible for explaining its policies and actions to the press. Pierce also managed the department’s strategic communications on financial fraud, mergers and antitrust violations, criminal justice reform, and encryption and surveillance.
