China: The Third Leg in Global Antitrust
Sebastien J Evrard (Jones Day) & Angela Huyue Zhang (King’s College London)
Abstract: The role of China in the international competition law system will be the subject of one of the panels of the upcoming 22nd St.Gallen International Competition Law Forum ICF. The ICF will take place in St.Gallen (Switzerland) on 23 and 24 April 2015.
The following interview between Sébastien J.Evrard (partner and attorney-at-law, Jones Day) and Prof. Dr. Angela Zhang (Lecturer in Competition Law & Trade, King’s College London) gives you a brief introduction to the topic, outlines some current issues and serves as the perfect outlook for what to expect during the discussions in St.Gallen. Mr. Evrard handles complex antitrust matters in Asia and the European Union and is based at the Hong Kong office of Jones Day. Prof. Dr. Zhang does not only have a background as an academic, but has also worked for six years at offices of international law firms in Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, Brussels, and London. The two will be joined during the St.Gallen ICF by the Honourable Peter Freeman (Chairman, Competition Appeal Tribunal; Former Chairman, UK Competition Commission), who will serve as the moderator of the “China: The Third Leg In Global Antitrust” panel.
