US: Dropbox takes on Apple competition with newest buyout

Cloud storage firm Dropbox has reportedly inked an acquisition deal in efforts to compete with technology giant Apple and its competing service app iCloud Drive Internet.

    according to reports, Dropbox will acquire web-based messenger Droptalk to allow Dropbox access to the messaging company’s communications tools that can integrate mobile conversations inside the cloud storage app, meaning conversations will be updated in real-time.

    According to reports, Droptalk was founded by a former Facebook engineer and a former LinkedIn engineer.

    The companies did not disclose financial details of the buyout.
