Pakistan: CCP head wants stronger enforcement of competition law

The head of the Competition Commission of Pakistan, Dr. Joseph Wilson, spoke to various members of the business community at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry late last week to promote stronger enforcement of competition law.

    According to reports, such effective enforcement is crucial to enable industrial growth and efficiency.

    But Chairman Wilson also pointed to the CCP’s previous cases in fighting cartels and other anticompetitive behavior that resulted in the protection of competitive markets and consumer rights, suggesting the official is pleased with the progress the CCP has made.
