Singapore: Budget airlines tighten alliance

Singapore-based budget airlines Tigerair and Scoot announced a joint venture alliance that would strengthen their existing cooperation, allowing flyers outside the nation to purchase itineraries involving services from both airlines.

    The companies said they submitted an application to the Competition Commission of Singapore regarding the matter. Reports say the strengthened partnership could include joint marketing and sales of certain routes or an alignment of pricing and scheduling policies.

    Reports say the CCS will likely need several months to complete its review.
