Germany: Time is ticking for Deutsche Post’s pricing policy

A spokesperson for Deutsche Post DHL said the mail group has until the end of the week to respond to a request by Germany’s Federal Cartel Office to respond to inquiries regarding Deutsche Post’s pricing policies.

    The office launched a probe last year into the mail firm to investigate allegations the company cut prices to squeeze competitors out of the market. Local reports say the office’s president Andreas Mundt said authorities “have taken a critical view of [Deutsche Post’s] pricing for major customers as it could obstruct other mail providers in an abusive manner.”
