Armenia: Employee union head slams lack of competition

The head of Armenia’s National Union of Employers slammed the lack of competition in the nation as the cause for poor quality of Armenian-made products, according to reports.

    Gagik Makaryan spoke at a news conference Thursday to mark World Quality Day, a day to promote awareness of the importance of high quality standards.

    Makaryan is now calling upon the government to develop a new strategy to boost competition, claiming the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition is not sufficient in its efforts to increase product quality.
