Japan/US: Detroit jury indicts Japanese car parts price-fixers

The US Department of Justice announced Friday that an indictment was filed in Detroit against two executives of automobile manufacturer Fujikura Ltd. for fixing prices of a car part to be used in US cars.

    Reports say the two execs, Ryoji Fukodome and Toshihiko Nagashima, conspired to fix wire harness prices sold to Subaru and set for installation in cars sold to the US and elsewhere.

    The car part is used as an electrical distribution system to power electric components of the vehicles.

    Repots say the indictment accuses the executives of fixing prices between September 2005 and February 2010 by participating in meetings to rig bids and manipulate supplies sold to Subaru.
