US: FTC names new deputy director of competition

The Federal Trade Commission has named Baker Botts partner Stephen Weissman as the regulator’s new deputy director of the bureau of competition, according to reports.

    Weissman is set to start his post on October 7 alongside FTC commissioners to manage the watchdog’s antirust reviews.

    In a statement, Baker Botts’ managing partner Andrew Baker called Weissman’s career move “an endorsement of the high-quality antitrust lawyers we have at Baker Botts and a testament to the depth of our antitrust team.”.
