US: Ebook buyers learn details of Macmillan, Penguin settlement

Consumers who purchased eBooks between April 1, 2010 and May 21, 2012 were sent a notice last Friday advising on their opportunity to claim part of the $162.25 million settlement by eBooks publishers Macmillan and Penguin as part of an agreement to end their price-fixing lawsuit.

    Attorneys general settled with the publishers, which were accused of fixing eBooks prices between the dates above. The case was part of a larger one involving additional publishers as well as Apple, Inc.
