Mexico/Brazil: Coca-Cola FEMSA pinpoints Brazil for growth

Coca-Cola FEMSA, the bottling company co-owned by The Coca-Cola Company and Fomento Economico Mexicano, announced the acquisition of Brazil-based rival Companhia Fluminense de Refrigerantes and confirmed the transaction was made official last June.

    The Mexico-based company is a producer and distributor of Coca-Cola products as well as juices, beers and other beverages throughout Latin America. Reports say Brazil is a major target for the company and is expected to lead growth.

    The last two years was a period of major buyouts for Coca-Cola FEMSA with several other transactions involving bottling company buyouts within Mexico.
