US: New T-Mobile US ready to trade with merger completion

The merger between T-Mobile and MetroPCS finalized this week, allowing the combined business to begin trading as the new T-Mobile US. The deal, initiated last year, confirmed the transaction’s completion on the new company’s website, one day after news outlets reported the likelihood of an upcoming finalization. According to reports, the deal combines T-Mobile’s 34 million customers with MetroPCS’s 9 million. Further, the company will operate on T-Mobile’s network and transfer MetroPCS’s subscribers over by 2015.
