US: United doesn’t want to be world’s biggest airline

While United CEO Jeff Smisek has not released a formal statement concerning US Airway’s merger with American Airline, which would result in the world’s largest airline, previous statements from the CEO have revealed that Smisek would not like to see his airline in a similar situation. “We don’t want to be the world’s largest airline,” he said in a statement concerning how the past several years have resulted in a smaller company for the executive. The remarks were made earlier last week at a conference. The CEO made additional remarks, including plans to redesign United’s mobile apps and install new Wi-Fi on aircraft.
