Spain: Collective price increase recommendation lands $100k fine on transport associations

Spain’s competition authority, the National Competition Commission, has released a report on its fine issued to two entities, the Spanish Federation of Goods Transport and the Catalan Transport Federation of Barcelona. According to the Commission, the two transport services businesses associations colluded to raise prices by recommending their companies increase prices by 2.67 percent when transporting goods by road. More than a combined $105,000 has been issued to the two associations for the collective price recommendation.
