Africa: New authority brings competition policy to nations without any

A new competition authority to monitor a wide portion of Africa has been established, having officially begun business earlier this year. COMESA, which stands for the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, is comprised of 19 member states of Africa, only eight of which have their own competition authorities. The COMESA Competition Commission, or CCC, is said to be likely to make significant impacts on M&A activity throughout the content, according to analysts.
